Prosecutor: Dover Man Gets Decade In Prison For Assaulting Teen, Witness Tampering

A Dover man was sentenced to a decade in state prison for assaulting a 16-year-old and tampering with a witness, authorities said.

Levi Young, 20 -- who previously pled guilty to aggravated  assault (strangulation), child endangerment and witness tampering -- was sentenced last Friday in Superior Court, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

A spokesperson for the MCPO said there were multiple incidents between March and July 2019.

Young must serve a minimum of 51 months (4.25 years) before he is eligible for parole.

Authorities did not release further information.

Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp thanked the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office's Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit, Dover Police Detective Bureau, Randolph Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit for aiding in the investigation.
